My boyfriend got sentenced to 180 days in Los Angeles county jail 3 weeks ago how much time will he actually do? He has a released date is 2/2/2017. He got centence for domestic violence. also is hes first time going to jail. He has been there 3 weeks already i really hope he gets an earlyer released than what they have estimated.
ANSWER:
He will serve 90 or fewer days in jail. I don’t know what type of early release kick LA County is giving for over-crowding presently, or if it’s being applied to DV cases.
Some counties will offer house arrest on DV sentences, but the LA County Sheriff considers that a disqualifying offense unless the judge has specifically authorized it.
