QUESTION:

How can I report abuse in the San Luis Obispo County Jail?

ANSWER:

You should tell as many people as you possibly can. All jail staff are mandated reporters of physical and sexual assault. Abuse of people in custody by other inmates or by jail staff is completely unacceptable and we need to work together to root it out.

If your loved one has informed you of abuse in the county jail, you can call the jail to report it at 805-781-4600.

You can also call the California Attorney General Public Inquiry Unit at 1-800-952-5225.
