QUESTION: When a person has been arrested and put in jail in San Luis Obispo, are they given pills to take? My friend was arrested for domestic violence and stayed in jail for 3 nights, she says that she was given pills that she was required to take. Could this be true?

ANSWER: The SLO jail is embroiled in a couple of controversies at the moment. https://www.sanluisobispo.com/news/local/article…

But being forced to take medication seems unlikely, though certainly not impossible. Also, most people don’t spend three nights in jail after a DV arrest, unless the court wanted bail or she was arrested right before a holiday weekend.
