QUESTION:

After expungement, on job or rental applications do you need to acknowledge that you were convicted or plead guilty? After something is successfully expunged, will I have to say I plead guilty to it on applications? Thank you for your time, also.

ANSWER:

In California, you can truthfully answer that you have never been convicted of that crime. The major exceptions are for jobs that require licensing or a DOD security clearance.
